ABLE Accounts, Employment, and Financial Independence
Wednesday, July 1, 2026
3:00 – 4:30 p.m. ET
The next NEON Community of Practice (CoP) will focus on how ABLE accounts can support Americans with disabilities in achieving greater financial independence while pursuing and sustaining employment. Building on insights from the May 19 CoP featuring Colorado, which highlighted how benefits planning can contribute to better employment outcomes, this session will explore the important role ABLE accounts can play once someone is working, particularly for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and co-occurring conditions. Featured speakers from the Kansas Council on Developmental Disabilities will bring both policy expertise and lived experience to a timely conversation about employment, benefits, and financial empowerment. |
