Webinar I: The ABCs of Ethics and Employment Services

Description: This foundational training is designed to introduce participants to the essential ethical principles and practices that guide employment services. Focusing on the "ABCs" of ethics—Accountability, Beneficence, and Competence—attendees will gain a deep understanding of how to navigate ethical dilemmas in the workplace, foster an inclusive and respectful environment, and uphold the rights and dignity of all individuals seeking employment services.
Using the ethical principles outlined in the professional conduct codes available from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) and the Association for People Supporting Employment First (APSE) participants will explore key topics such as fair treatment, autonomy, and ethical decision-making in employment practices. This training provides valuable insights for professionals working in employment services, equipping them with the tools to ensure that ethical standards are upheld while meeting the diverse needs of job seekers.
Learning Objectives:
Understand key ethical principles in the context of employment services, and how these principles apply to everyday practice.
Explore ethical dilemmas commonly encountered in employment services, and develop strategies for addressing these challenges while maintaining fairness, transparency, and respect for individuals seeking employment.
Develop a strong foundation in partcipant’s rights and advocacy, ensuring that job seekers and employees are treated with dignity and their autonomy is respected throughout the employment services process.

Webinar 2: Ethics and Transition Services: Working with Students and Families

Description: This training is designed to equip professionals with the ethical knowledge and skills necessary for supporting students and families during the critical transition from school to adulthood. Focusing on the ethical principles that guide transition services, participants will explore topics such as student autonomy, informed consent, confidentiality, and cultural competency in the context of planning for post-secondary education, employment, and independent living.
The training emphasizes the importance of collaboration, respect for diverse needs, and the application of ethical decision-making in working with students with disabilities or other special needs.
By the end of the session, participants will have a deeper understanding of how to navigate the ethical complexities of transition services, ensuring they provide student- and family-centered support that fosters empowerment, independence, and successful outcomes for all individuals.

Description: This training is designed to help professionals integrate ethical principles with culturally responsive practices in their work. Participants will explore how to navigate ethical decision-making while honoring and respecting cultural diversity in service delivery. Focusing on key ethical concepts like equity, respect, and justice, the training will provide participants with practical tools for creating inclusive environments that consider the cultural backgrounds, values, and perspectives of those they serve.
By the end of the training, participants will be empowered with the knowledge and skills to apply culturally responsive practices within an ethical framework, ensuring that their services are both inclusive and aligned with the core values of respect, dignity, and social justice.
